The Swiss Healthcare System - How Does Health Insurance In Switzerland Work?

Health Insurance In Switzerland

In Switzerland, everyone has health insurance. The health outcomes are excellent, the cost is reasonable and patients are highly satisfied. How does this work? Why is Switzerland renowned for its healthcare system?

Insurance Companies
Health insurance is purchased directly from insurance companies such as «Aquilana» or «CSS», businesses do not act as a middleman like they do in the US. Therefore customers keep their coverage when they change or lose their job.

Regulation

These insurance companies are regulated by the government, which enforces price controls. Insurance companies are required to accept anyone, therefore they cannot deny coverage to individuals with pre-existing conditions.

Easy and Healthy Snack Ideas

When our family first began this journey to allergy free eating, I frequently found myself at a loss when it came to quick and easy snacks. I committed myself to following the same dietary restrictions as my daughter Amy and there were some days where I just seemed to be starving because I couldn’t think of anything easy to eat and I had fed the last of the leftovers to Amy. It seemed like everything we could eat required so much preparation and there wasn’t a single packaged food we could turn to.

We were already more or less into “clean eating” so giving up packaged foods wasn’t really that hard to deal with. The biggest challenge was probably giving up dairy and eggs. Not that we were big milk drinkers but we did eat a lot of yogurt and some cheese. Yogurt was quick, easy and filling and cheese and eggs were quick and easy protein alternatives. One of the things that I do on a regular basis is to cook double what I need for dinner so that we have left-overs to eat for breakfast or lunch the next day.

4 Foods That Prevent Acne

Whilst acne is a condition which is commonly associated with teenagers, it can appear at any stage of our lives and unfortunately it frequently does. Contrary to popular belief, acne isn't caused by having dirty skin or not cleansing your face enough – acne sufferers probably clean their face more often than the lucky people who don’t have to put up with this awful condition. Instead, acne and blackheads are often caused by other factors such as hormones, stress, amount of sleep and even what you eat.

Three-Day Mini Summer Vacation to Aspen

The Aspen/Snowmass region in Colorado is often considered one of the playgrounds for the “rich and famous,” especially in the winter when snow covers the mountains and skiers and snowboarders traverse the slopes and cross country trails.  However, even “common folks” will find the area worth a visit after the snow has melted from the ski slopes. There’s a saying of the locals, “I came for the winters, but stayed for the summers.” Regardless of which warmer weather months you decide to make the trip, there are endless activities to engage all ages and interests.  So let’s start a wonderful three-day vacation in Aspen/Snowmass. First we need to get there and find a place to sleep.

Getting to the Colorado Ski Resort

It may surprise some to learn you can take a flight to Aspen.  Just three miles from Aspen and Main Street Aspen; Photo by Ben & Whitney Carey, Source: Wikimedia Commonssix from Snowmass Village, the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) serves flights from American Airlines and United Express.  In addition, Eagle County Regional Airport is only 70 miles away, while Grand Junction Regional Airport is 127 miles from the mountain resorts.  From the airports, transportation to the resorts is varied.  Shuttles and vans can be chartered; taxi service is available; and some lodgings offer free transport.  It is recommended arrangements are made in advance of the visit.
Amtrak provides service to Glenwood Springs; forty miles from Aspen.  In addition, there are several campgrounds accommodating RVs.   The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority provides free bus service within the town of Aspen; between the town and Snowmass Village and within the ski resort year-round.

Meet The New Kate Moss

.
NATALIE MORRIS may be best known for appearing as Kate Moss' body double, but she is soon to become a model star in her own right. The US beauty is signed to Storm, the same respected model agency that Moss, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Cindy Crawford belong to.
Morris made headlines earlier this week when she was photographed in an identical outfit to Kate Moss on the set of a campaign in London. She is - at five-foot-eight - smaller than many of her model counterparts, but Moss was never known for her height either. Her green eyes, high cheekbones and long legs have already attracted work from Nike, Dream Girls lingerie and LA label House of 11, and she also appeared in Enrique Iglesias' music video, Finally Found You, where she played his love interest. Much impassioned kissing on beds ensued.
She's also dabbled in acting, featuring in comedies Good Luck Chuck and The A List, and television shows, Smallville and Portlandia. When she's not working she loves being with her pet poodle, Shabboo, reading 19th Century Russian literature, cooking Persian food and buying Chanel make-up - we can't blame her.
An unnamed source close to the model tells us that "she has a bit of the Cara Delevingne about her". One to watch indeed.

Nicotine Stains - Removing Nicotine Stains from Fingers and Teeth

Smoking aside from running rampant with your health also stains everything. Nicotine itself is an oily liquid that seeps into our skin in its purest form. When it is released in cigarette smoke, nicotine is released with tar from the tobacco. The tar combined with the nicotine in cigarette smoke will stain finger, teeth, walls, and any other porous surface. These stains are not noticed immediately, but one day every smoker wakes up and notices their index and middle finger of their smoking hand have yellowed at the tip.
Other than the obvious way to prevent these stains, which is to stop smoking, smokers can help prevent them by washing their hands as much as possible. however, once the stains set in they only get harder to get rid of.

The Women of 1956: It Was a Very Good Year

1956 was quite a year: Ike was re-elected to his second term (with Richard Nixon as his Vice President), Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier, IBM invented the hard disk, Elvis swiveled that wobbly pelvis on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time, Charlton Heston killed ‘em as Moses in The Ten Commandments, and Yankee right-hander Don Larsen tossed the only perfect game in World Series history. The space race was heating up, Korea was a memory and Vietnam was somewhere beyond the horizon. And, for some reason, a whole lotta beautiful women were born.
Maybe it was the nuclear testing, maybe it was fluoride in the water, but whatever the reason, here are half a dozen of the many women born during that year who continue to put the “well” in the phrase “aging well.”  So as to not show favorites, let’s look at them in birth order
